Protecting Law Enforcement Officers, Judges, Prosecutors, and Their Families
This executive order directs federal agencies to remove obstacles for federal law enforcement officers to carry concealed firearms under existing law, authorizes special deputation with firearm privileges for federal prosecutors facing threats, prioritizes protection of judges and prosecutors by the Marshals Service, and requires development of legislation to extend firearm carry rights to federal judges and enhance penalties for violence against these officials and their families.
Increasing Economic and Geographic Mobility
This executive order directs federal agencies to review their occupational licensing regulations and policies to reduce barriers to worker mobility, particularly for military spouses and individuals with criminal records. It establishes six principles for state-level occupational licensing reform and creates a reporting system to identify and reward states that adopt less restrictive licensing requirements.
Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements
This executive order directs the Department of Homeland Security to plan and construct a physical wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, expand detention facilities and immigration enforcement capacity, end the "catch and release" practice for apprehended immigrants, authorize state and local law enforcement to perform immigration officer functions, and tighten asylum and parole standards. It mandates hiring 5,000 additional Border Patrol agents and requires multiple reports on border security progress and foreign aid to Mexico.
