Determination and Waiver of Application of Section 908(a)(1) of the Trade Sanctions Reform and Export Enhancement Act of 2000 with Respect to Libya
President Bush waived a trade sanctions restriction under the Trade Sanctions Reform and Export Enhancement Act of 2000 to allow agricultural and medical exports to Libya, determining it was in the national security interest of the United States. The Secretary of State was directed to report this waiver to Congress and publish it in the Federal Register.
Blocking Property of Certain Persons and Prohibiting the Export of Certain Goods to Syria
This executive order declares a national emergency and imposes sanctions on Syria, blocking property of individuals and entities supporting Syrian government activities including terrorism, occupation of Lebanon, WMD programs, and undermining Iraq stabilization. It prohibits export of munitions, most commerce-controlled items, and other U.S. products to Syria, with limited exceptions for food and medicine, and restricts Syrian-owned air carrier operations in U.S. airspace.
Amending Executive Order 13257 To Implement the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2003
This executive order amends a 2002 trafficking order to implement the 2003 reauthorization of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act. It assigns specific responsibilities to the Secretary of State, Secretary of Homeland Security, and other agencies for coordinating anti-trafficking policies, preventing sex tourism, regulating federal contracts and grants, and conducting research on human trafficking.
Volunteers for Prosperity
