Continuation of the National Emergency With Respect to Iran

President George W. Bush continued for one year the national emergency with respect to Iran that was first declared on November 14, 1979, by Executive Order 12170. The continuation is based on ongoing abnormal U.S.-Iran relations and the incomplete implementation of the January 19, 1981, Algiers Accords agreements with Iran.
