Enhancing the Effectiveness of Agency Chief Information Officers

This executive order strengthens the authority of federal agency Chief Information Officers by requiring they report directly to agency heads, control IT budgets and hiring, consolidate redundant technology systems, and prioritize cybersecurity and cloud adoption.
